In “Stitched,” Van Horne gives materials from the past a new life through her process of deconstruction and reassembly. Vintage papers, photographs, fabrics, and matchbooks are cut apart and sewn back together often in the shape of a collection of houses. These villages show visible stitches, and raw edges, weaving new narratives into these old materials
